1. Data collection
hkgoldcalc.com provides market reference data, gold valuation and conversion tools. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not submitted to our servers. The site does not request identity documents, bank details, payment cards, phone numbers or full addresses.
1a. Gold price alerts
Price alerts are currently marked "coming soon"; form submission and backend collection are disabled. The feature does not currently collect or store email addresses, phone numbers or WhatsApp numbers. It will remain disabled until double opt-in, unsubscribe, deletion, retention and rate-limit controls are complete and this policy is updated.
2. Cookies
The site and third-party services may use cookies or similar technology for security, charts and advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser. See our Cookie Policy.
3. Third-party services
This site uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:
- gold-api.com (gold and silver prices)
- frankfurter.dev and open.er-api.com (exchange rates)
- CoinGecko (crypto prices)
- TradingView (charts and ticker)
- Google AdSense (publisher verification and advertising; this site is not currently approved to serve ads)
4. Google AdSense and ad cookies
The site includes AdSense publisher verification code but was not approved to serve ads as of 3 July 2026. If advertising is enabled later, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology under their policies. The site will use Google Privacy Messaging or another eligible consent solution where required and will not treat absence of a choice as consent to non-essential cookies.
4a. Affiliate / external link disclosure
Some links on this site pointing to gold shops or merchants may be affiliate links. If you visit and complete a transaction via such a link, this site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Such commissions help fund the site's operation and do not affect the reference prices or the neutrality of our content. All shop prices are reference prices and are not adjusted because of any affiliate relationship.
5. Data security
We apply data minimisation, do not expose API keys in the frontend, do not keep full IP addresses as business data and do not sell directly identifying personal data.
6. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal data.
7. Policy updates
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here; where a new purpose requires consent, the applicable consent will be obtained rather than inferred solely from continued use.
